In the center of Bulgaria, 240 km away from Sofia, the private hunting reserve “Bukovetz” is to be found. It is situated in the midst of Stara planina (the Balkans) and occupies part of the territory of one of the oldest game reserves.

Located near the Renaissance town of Elena, on the northern slopes of the Balkan Mountains, Hunting area “Bukovets” covers the territory of one of the oldest hunting farms in Bulgaria, dating back to the time of Tsarist Bulgaria.
Since 2003, the property has been managed by us and inherits the hunting traditions in this area, created over decades. It proovs itself as the most wanted huntint destinations.
Territory and climate
This region is characterized with moderate climate. The Northern slopes of Stara Planina abound in sweeping streams and dense forests. The surface of the reserve amounts to 15 000 decares free mountainous land.mostly deciduous – beech forests. The altitude varies from 300 to 1300 meters. The region is characterized by a temperate continental climate.
The great difference in the altitude, tranquility and the untouched nature, determine the diversity of micro- climatic features and preserve the natural habitats of the brown bear, red deer, fallow deer, wild boar, roe deer and moufflon.
